To mark the Battle of Brandywine’s western edge and educate visitors to the area, MDW designed and developed the Interpretive Graphics, Digital Signage and the Interactive Touchscreen Kiosk for the Marshallton Village Heritage Center. As one of the first of a proposed series of connected kiosks created with the support of the Friends of Martin’s Tavern and the Chester County Conference & Visitors Bureau, the Marshallton Village Heritage Center uses graphic wall displays as well as video, multimedia and interactive web elements on a 32″ touch screen to tell the story of the area from the native population through to today. The Center has a particular emphasis on the area’s significance in the battle of Brandywine as well as its key founders, and its role as a significant pre-railroad trade route from Lancaster to Philadelphia. It also features a user-managed weatherproof outdoor digital signage unit that displays local information, events and advertising.
